Membership
(1) The Membership of the Scout Bharti is open to all citizens of India and Non-Resident of India (NRIs). Provided as citizen of any other nation may be admitted as a member with the written consent or approval of the National Chairman.
Provided further that such person subscribes to the Scout or Guide Promise as hereunder
On my honour I Promise that I will do my best,
To do my duty to God* and India
To help other people and
To obey the Scout or Guide Laws.
(2) The membership of the Scout Bharti shall consist of:
(a) General Members
(b) Life Members
(c) Ordinary Members
(d) Special Members
(a) General Members:
(i) Beneficiaries i.e. Cubs/Bulbuls, Scouts/Guides, Rovers/Rangers, Lone Scouts/Guides, Lone Rovers/Rangers, Sea Scouts/Guides, Sea Rovers/Rangers, Air Scouts/Guides, Air Rovers/Rangers, Grameen Rovers/Rangers, all Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers of Extension Scouting/Guiding, Venture Scouts/ Guides registered as such.
(ii) Adult Leaders i.e. Scouters, Guiders, Commissioners and others in this capacity, who hold valid warrants and trainers who hold Honorable Charge in force.
(b) Life Members:
Life Members are those who are admitted as such by the National Executive Committee and who have paid Life Membership Fees as prescribed.
(c) Ordinary Members :
Ordinary Members are those who are admitted as such by the National Executive Committee and who have paid annual subscription fee as proscribed and shall include Adult Leaders provided further that they are not in arrears.
(d) *Special Members :
Special Members are those who are admitted as such by the National Executive Committee for their meritorious contribution to the movement.
(e) The Fellows of Scout Bharti-
Corporate Member:
Corporate Members are those who are admitted as such by the National Executive Committee and who have paid Life Membership Fees as prescribed. The Corporate Member will be invited on special occasions and important meetings including policy making meetings of institution from time to time.
Founder Member:
Founder Members are those who are admitted as such by the National Executive Committee and who have paid Life Membership Fees as prescribed. The Founder Member will be invited on special occasions and important meetings including policy making meetings of institution from time to time, their opinion and guidance will be incorporated in policy making and hence institutional functioning. Two poor persons nominated by a Founder Member will get free admission on priority basis to a residential Yog Science Camp once a year.
Special Member:
Special Members are those who are admitted as such by the National Executive Committee and who have paid Life Membership Fees as prescribed. The Special Member will be invited on special occasions and important meetings including policy making meetings of institution from time to time, their opinion and guidance will be incorporated in policy making and hence institutional functioning. Two poor persons nominated by a Founder Member will get free admission on priority basis to a residential Yog Science Camp once a year.
Worker & General Member:
• Workers Members will be preferred to General Members to attend workshops.
5. Chief Patron and Patron:
(1) There shall be a Chief Patron and the President of India shall be invited to be the Chief Patron of the National Organization.
(2) There shall be More than one Patrons and the Eminent Personalities of India shall be invited to be the Patron of the National Scout Bharti.
